On the road
Hi Izak,
Just to warn you: I'm not at home at the moment as Í'm cycling through Cambodia. So I won't be able to host anybody in Eindhoven now.
But you will probably come when it will be a bit warmer. It's freezing now in Holland I heard. The coldest winter in years ...
Happy new year!
Cheers, Jörg.

With two weeks you can do a roundtrip through Holland. I would suggest to make a list of things/places you want to visit and have a routeplanner generate your route. The following link gives possibility to generate your own route through Holland, based on two main routeplanning possibilities (or a combination):
- The Long distance routes (LF Netwerk)
- Along "nodes" from the nodes-network (knooppunten)

Its a very good way to cycle the best scenic/nice roads of Holland. You can also download the gpx file of the route generated. Disadvantage is you need a lot of maps to cover your route if you dont have gps equipment. But it might give you an idea which places you will pass.

Consider Belgium too
We cycled for 17 days round trip from Amersterdam through Netherlands, Belgium and into Aachen, Germany in May 2009 and had a fabulous time. Because bikes are widely used, you can cycle anywhere. So I would advise you to think about what you'd like to see and then develop a route. We've cycled along coasts before, so we only spent a half day on the North Sea Route (near the huge waterworks in Zeeland)so we could see more towns and meet people. I encourage you to join Vrienden op de Fiets for 15 Euro/year. You'll receive a book with thousands of bike-friendly places to stay and breakfast for a very modest cost. See: http://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl
Please contact me with further questions. Enjoy!
Vrienden op de Fiets
I can recommend 'Vrienden op de Fiets' too. In the Netherlands and in Belgium they gather nearly 4000 families who like to receive cycling tourists and this for a price, close to the real costs of your stay ;-)
And slowly the number of hosts outside of these 2 countries is increasing : France, Germany, UK, Denmark, Spain and Portugal, Hungary, Luxembourg, ... Recently even hosts from Brazil and Israel joined.
Thank you
