Rome, Summer 2012, looking to store bike

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum. If not can someone point me to the best place to post this?

I started a tour in 2010 in Orkney, Scotland and ended in London several weeks later. Now I'm flying back to the UK in May, to pick up where I left off, to finish my tour in Rome. In Rome, I'm meeting a friend (who is flying in from the US)and I desperately need a place/host to store my bicycle and bike luggage for a week-10 days. This will probably be late June or mid July. I will not burden you with requesting accommodation since my friend is not a cyclist.

I thought I would post this message before contacting individuals. Also if anyone knows where to get a cardboard bike box for shipping (for the airport), please let me know!
