Cycling From Turkey to Germany

Hello all ,

Last summer i cycled from Kocaeli to Georgia-Batumi (1700 km) by Black Sea n this summer in July i want to cycle from İstanbul to Germany-Berlin.

Has anyone here who cycled this route before n want to share his/her experiences? If yes,can u please tell me about which route is better, which places should i be careful,n also if there r some warmshowers host on that route can they help me on the way? Also u can tell me about the campings!

Thank you very much from now for your helps... :)

Tekirdag to Split (Croatia)

Hi Cetin,

in June 2011 we took a train from Freiburg/Germany to Istanbul. The plan was, to cycle as far as we can into the direction home within the remaining time of about 3 weeks. So we cycled from Turkey to Croatia and passed Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo (by train and bus, because cycling was to dangerous, the car-drivers are not used to bikers), Montenegro (wonderful landscape, bad roads ;-) and Croatia. The coastal highway in Croatia is to small for cars and bikes, so we didn't cycle much there.
How good is your German? (Because we wrote a closed blog about our tour.)

Hopefully we will be in Turkey for our cycling holiday in June this year.

Lot's of greatings,
Ellen

Hello,
If you do not hurry, you have to go through the Rhodopes, South Bulgaria, then join the Danube. Through the park Semenic Romania and so on ...
