Howdy,
I near completion of my Masters Degree at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. After I defend on September 19, I plan to ride to a foresrty science conference (IUFRO World Congress) in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have to be in Salt Lake to present by October 6th.
I would appreciate any advice, recommendations, or precaution regarding the route I should take. I was thinking I would ride to Bend via McKenzie pass and then head south. This is a link to one possible route:

Have you ridden through eastern Oregon, southwestern Idaho, or northeastern Nevada?
What do you recommend?
Thanks!
