Hello guys.
Im going to bike trough USA this summer with a friend. We need 2 Decent bikes. Second hand is totally okay ( around 500 $ each) and camping
gear. Can anybody recommend some good and honest shops in New york city? We are biking from east to west.

There aren't a lot of used bikes in stores in NYC generally. Most used bikes get sold on Craigslist. If you're willing and able to spend a bit of time shopping around, this will get you the most for $500.
If you want or need to buy new, a Trek 7.1 FX is within your budget, and could be a good choice if you like flat bars. Metro Bicycles (aka Danny's Cycles) is a decent local chain that sells these.
what about camping gears? Do you know any stores around :)?
Eastern Mountain Sports is the big chain. They have most things and generally OK prices. There is also Paragon Sports which is a local but very large NYC shop. From Union Square you can walk to both.
